The Space
Recording Space
Golden Curve Sound is a Recording, Mixing, Mastering and Music Production Studio nestled deep in the beautiful Catskill Mountains.
The studio is a built in a new 1200 square feet barn. The control room dimensions were calculated based on a Fibonacci curve, (AKA Golden Curve.) This shape greatly minimizes resonant frequencies, echos and phase issues, and provides a very musical and accurate listening environment. The double, floated wall to the Live Room uses two more Fibonacci Curves and resembles the side of an acoustic guitar or grand piano. With 15' cathedral ceilings and various natural hard and absorptive materials, a beautifully balanced sound with an extremely musical reverb can be achieved.
There is also a 50 square feet vocal booth, a guitar amp room and a garage, to provide additional isolation options for bands or larger ensembles.
Living Space
10 feet from the studio is the house. With 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms (plus a pull-out couch and a day bed), the house can sleep a maximum of 10 people. full open floor-plan kitchen, 2 wood burning stoves, living room, media room, 900 sf. deck, and sun room.
The house is situated near a stream, next to thousands of acres of state land. Numerous hiking trails, lakes and streams surround the area. The towns of Roscoe and nearby Livingston Manor are well known for excellent fishing, camping and hiking. There are also 3 craft Breweries, 2 distilleries, bars and restaurants, an artisan bakery, groceries, thrift stores and art galleries within 20 minutes drive.
